What is Chair Massage?

Chair massage is a term for massage that is performed with the client fully clothed.

I use the term "chair massage" loosely here because instead of a massage chair, I utilize a massage table.

You are still fully clothed, and I work the muscles the same way as if you were in a chair,

What should I expect?

I'll prep the table for you by cleaning down the table with a disinfectant, putting a new cover on the face cradle, and sanitizing my hands.

When you come in, I'll ask you a few questions, like "what do you do here, what hurts, where would you like focus today?"

Most people will say things like, "my neck hurts'  or "man I hurt my low back".

I'll have you lay on the table either face up or face down, depending on where you would like the focus.  I'll put a bolster under your legs to make you more comfortable.  And then nirvana can begin :)

I can work your muscles through your clothing, but please keep in mind, rough knobby sweaters will get in the way of the pressure (and hurt my hands), and silk fabrics can be too delicate for anything more than a very light touch.

Don't be surprised if you start to doze off :)

Once your session is done, I'll help you sit upright.  Sometimes people feel a bit light headed after a session, this is normal.

And then it's back to work! Most people find the little break mid day gives them more energy and they are better able to focus the rest of the day :)
